Dale Walker
Director of Managed Services
Q&A with Dale Walker:
How long have you been doing IT:
I initially started my College Education in 1967 as a Data Processing Major. Unfortunately, due to forces completely under my control I did not continue
my education and chose the path of least resistance and became a Carpenter. After many years as a Carpenter, I went back to school in 1996. This
time I was more successful and received Certification as a Novell Administrator and Novell Engineer. While in school I tutored many students and was
approached for a teaching position. I started teaching in a small Tech School in Stockton. I taught DOS, A+ Hardware, Novell Networking and Microsoft
Windows NT.
After 2 years I was approached and offered a position teaching for a National School called NEW HORIZONS Training Center. My specialty was Novell
Networking and I obtained my Certification as a Novell Instructor in 1999. At this time, I held Certifications in A+, Network+, which are lifetime
Certifications. They have since change and no longer issue these Certifications as a permanent Cert. I also held Certifications in 20 different Novell
disciplines. I was ask by my local branch to study for and certify in Cisco Routers. So, in between my classes I studied and Certified as a CCNA in Cisco
Routers. I also Certified in Microsoft Window 2003 Servers.
I was a traveling instructor for NEW HORIZONS for about a year and went to Chicago, Dallas, Sacramento, Napa, and LA to teach classes in Cisco
Routers.
As the economy took a downward turn in 2005 my school closed. I worked as a contractor in 2005 and did several special projects. One project was to
move the home office for the ACE Train from their older Novell network to a Windows Network. Other projects during this time included 2 stints with
PlusIT.
In 2009 I went to work for a Company in Lodi that specialized in Managed Services. I worked there for 5 years as the company went through several
changes in ownership and personnel.
In 2013 I rejoined PlusIT as the Manager of their new Managed Services department. Since that time, we have grown to the point where we now
manage computers for about 80 companies. This includes about 775 workstations and laptops and almost 100 servers.
How long have you been working at PlusIT:
1, 2 and 8 years
What do you do for fun:
My wife and I like to go Antiquing. I’m a bit of a hoarder and collect things that catch my eye. We haven’t been able to do that in about 2 years now.
How long have you been a Californian:
I came to California in 1953 and have lived here most of that time. I was raised in the Bay Area and moved to Stockton in 1971. I spent two years in
Northern Minnesota and 2 years in Las Vegas. Both time pursuing opportunities in Carpentry. I returned both times
Dale is a Plus IT veteran; he has been an integral part of the team over 10 years. His deep technical knowledge, ability to teach and care for the client is
why he leads our Managed Services efforts. Dale is the brain behind the scenes that makes sure all your computers are safe and secure.
Dale is also critical in fostering the “client first” mentality we all share. His long history as an educator is also valuable to the team as he is one of our most
prolific teachers. He truly loves to share his knowledge and enrich the team.
Dale is a long time Californian, raised in the Bay area but he has lived and travelled around the US. When he is not running the Managed Services
Department, he enjoys collecting antiques and oddities with his wife. Truly a Jack of all Trades, Dale is an invaluable part of the Plus IT Team.

Taylor Harris
Computer/Network Specialist
Q&A with Taylor: How long have you been doing IT: 3 years, unofficially about 6 years How long have you been working at Plus IT: 4 months but I plan on being here to watch and help grow this company to new heights. What do you do for fun: I like to watch movies, hang out with my little Yorkie, Henry and go to the beach or explore. I love watching sunrises/sunsets. How long have you been a Californian: I moved from Idaho to California and have been a California for about 6 years now and counting. People ask, “Now why in the world would you leave Idaho to come to California?? That’s where all the Californians are going.” Well, my answer remains the same, I am tired of having Winter / Snow more months out of the year than Summer. Plus, I like being able to drive an hour and a half to two hours in any direction and finding something new to do in whatever city in California I land in. You just CAN’T do that in Idaho. Though Taylor recently joined Plus IT last year in 2021, she has quickly become a key team member. Taylor spends the bulk of her time on site helping our clients repair and upgrade systems. Her care for the client and professional attitude makes her perfect for supporting our clients. Taylor moved to California to escape the harsh winters in Idaho. She enjoys the outdoors and spends a lot of time exploring. When she’s not out discovering all California has to offer you will likely find her watching movies with Henry, her pet Yorkie. Taylor’s journey in IT started in 2016 and she brings a deep technical skillset beyond her customer care. She is excited to help Plus IT evolve and improve and Taylor brings that energy to our client’s projects as we help them evolve their business in this Information Age.
